I don't know if my word counts for anything, or if what I say would you take into consideration but as an old player who came back in around mid September it's not Cea's fault completely. It's "Both" sides. The Cea's and Locke's hatred for each other in the forums basically turn off new players into the game. Also I've met Locke in game finally and he's a decent guy, but no offence dawg I get a really different vibe from you on the forums. As it stands threre are a lot of "other" players who will PK people fresh off of newbie island. I will not name names but there were plenty of times I would get killed by a citizen or random BW just because I was weak. Yes, this turns off people to the game, but it's a part of it. I don't understand what your trying to acomplish because almost all caped/high leveled player is to blame for ruining the community then.

Also there are no more kingdoms in the forums which leads to less organization and just more random PKings.

There will eventually be another group of players in power and the cycle will continue just like Norkia.

If there was only one thing that should have been changed it would be domains. Guards/army is too strong to be taken by anyone really. Which hurts other players chances, which in turn stops people from really playing the endgame.

Also no sense of community forum wise really really does not help.

This should have been discussed with us in the first place. Then you'd get the REAL story, Gaku. We don't "terrorize newbies" at all. I haven't killed any new player in months, if that. ESPECIALLY not any actual newbies with newbie protection. All of this is hearsay from Locke, the person that is our greatest foe in the game. Surely you can see why his decision that we are responsible for the game's situation is very biased, and had you actually asked anyone else, you would have gotten many different reasons.

And when there are many different reasons as to why a game is declining, it's obviously not one person's fault, so something like this was incredibly unwarranted and should be overturned before it gets worse than it already was. You don't "revive" a game by banishing the best players. That only makes things ten times worse. Don't take that as some cryptic message either, because it's pretty obvious now that we're gone, shit is going to hit the fan and those that complained about PvP before will likely quit now especially.

Okay you guys win. You get to get rid of the guys who sculpted up and added tons of history and value to the game and actually respected it, and you get to keep valuable community members such as this:

Let's go, friends. Get onto my back and I'll fly us away from here, rasa. Our time here has ended.

It makes sense, there has to be an alpha male/alpha female of the pack. No matter what. If a king steps down another will take his place. It's inevitable and I'd have to agree with that.

I just wanted to say that this decision was intended to help wipe the slate by removing a few key people (who each have questionable motives, anyway) without having to pwipe the whole server yet again. The targeted players were those who Locke felt were most responsible for the current state of affairs. As I understand it, newbies are constantly terrorized by trash alts and the vast majority refuse to leave the island because they know they have no chance to make it anywhere else. Most domains are in effect hostile to those who aren't already part of the "in" group. Since the players who were recently banned are for the most part inactive anyway (except for logging in periodically to re-assert their dominance and indiscriminately curb-stomp everyone else), the net effect is that tens of new players will be able to experience the rest of the game relatively unhindered.

I am aware of the Citizen group, and for the most part, what I have seen hasn't implicated them in any mass newbie killings, though I'm not saying they haven't done that. I'm not sure who these people are, and since Locke didn't specifically say they were a problem, I have no opinion on whether they should be included in this ban.

While I thought I would have more time to work on the game after last week, it seems like every time I finish one thing, five more pop up. I need large blocks of uninterrupted time to get anything done on Terulia - time for me to get "in the zone" and knock out bugs and features in a systematic way. I rarely have that sort of free time available to me now, and when I do, I'm too exhausted from everything else I've got going on. For example, yesterday I went to a slaughterhouse to collect samples; the whole trip took 7.5 hours. After I got home, took a shower, and ate dinner, I spent another 4-5 hours writing and submitting scripts to the university's supercomputer. Cea thinks it's my responsibility to personally keep tabs on what's going on in game. Why would I even bother logging into FFO, where I know I will be spam-killed within the first 5 minutes of logging in, when I've already dealt with so many other unpleasant things in the course of the day?

We all know that the loudest voices on the forums are not necessarily the most active players in-game. Just because a small number of people complain here doesn't mean the community as a whole shares the same sentiment. I will agree that the bans are not fair, and I did have some major reservations about the suggestion to ban an adjunct admin, but I agree that this will likely be best for the in-game community. As such, I support Locke, and I am leaving the issue up to him.

I honestly don't even know how to response to this, or ANY of this whole topic. Proper words just fail to form.

So I'll just say my good-byes.

My fellow (ex-)Jiritsians: I'm sorry I couldn't do anything to save you from this unjust fate. I really feel bad about it and if there were some way I could fix it, I would. Sadly, such doings are impossible for someone like me.
Gaku: Thanks for making a fun game. I can say, without a doubt, that it is (was?) the best game to grace BYOND. Quite a shame it had to end this way; I am very disappointed with your recent decisions and I fear I must take my leave. I hope you enjoy making Terulia, but I won't be around for it.
Vetrin: You are the worst admin I have ever seen in any game ever. And I've played a game with King of Slimes as a GM. I would very much like to see you burn in Moderation Hell.
Lumino: You're blind and deaf to the truth. I won't even bother trying to explain because, as always, you will miss (or ignore) the point entirely. You are a pox upon this game and you refuse to realize it. How unfortunate.
Nabutso: Don't cut yourself anymore. Please. It's a dangerous habit, and there are far better outlets for pent-up anger.
Dean & the other people who are (supposedly) actually working on Terulia instead of just making poor administrative decisions: Good luck with all that stuff, and try to cut down on the terrible memes just a tad, alright? (Yes, "I mad". But not about that.)
Everyone else that still plays: Have fun with your broken, dead and soon-to-be-buried game. See you all elsewhere. Maybe.
People who don't play, don't play to, and aren't working on Terulia either: Leave the forums. Your presence can only cause negativity. Much like mine, at this point.

Sincerely,
Ethril, former Archmagus of Boredom.

Real talk, what the fuck... someone told me that some people got banned for "ruining the game". Hold on, just because a whole shitload of people don't play anymore, heck even the fucking people who were to blame weren't that active anymore, doesn't mean that SOMEONE or SOME PEOPLE are to blame for it. Ever fucking think that the game just isn't that attractive anymore. Nothing ever fucking happens. There is nothing fucking new or different about the game than it was before. There is no fucking epic conflict between sides because well sorry to say it, its just not fun for anyone at all to fight in the fucking game anymore. The majority of the fucking people who played the game were dedicated people, those dedicated people were what made the game popular. Like what happened, most people left the game out of complete boredom of it. You cant fucking expect newbies to repopulate the fucking game to the same amount as when these dedicated people were playing, nor can you blame the people who still do play from time to time for "ruining the community" because nobody plays this boring fucking game anymore. To new players yeah this game is fun, but to the people who have experienced all there is to the game, its gotten fucking boring.

This fucking shit is ridiculous. If you don't fucking change anything about a game, what makes you think that people will keep playing the same fucking shit. And what makes you think banning the few fucking people who still fucking play the fucking game once in awhile will make things better? Arent you trying to make the population of the game increase? How is banning the few dedicated people who still play helping to increase the game population? Newbies are going to leave NB and be like WTF DO I FUCKING DO NOW, and there will be no one at all to even give them a push to even get them going, and in turn they will FUCKING QUIT THE FUCKING GAME. Shit like this is counter productive to your goals.

Real Fucking Talk.

I won't bring up names, but there are many players who have thanked me or otherwise offered their support. Even now, only 24 hours after the event, there are more than a few players back who I have not seen on in a very long time.

Yes, there are multiple reasons as to why a game is declining. Indeed, there are also multiple solutions to help it stop declining. I can only work in my area of the game. I cannot change the code or alter Gaku's direction. I work with what I have to do my part to help the community, and that's all this is. It is not a personal vendetta.

My fellow (ex-)Jiritsians: I'm sorry I couldn't do anything to save you from this unjust fate. I really feel bad about it and if there were some way I could fix it, I would. Sadly, such doings are impossible for someone like me.

Your message to Nabutso and "Dean and other people who are "(supposedly)" actually working on Terulia..." simply reveals your immaturity. As far as I can tell, you are a blind follower, and that's all. I have watched you, I have given you chances, but I have not seen a single independent thought in your head. This has not just been in relation to moderation, but to anything. You have attached yourself to "Jiritsu" like a parasite, and it seems that you will always just regurgitate what they say.

---

Zapno, it seems that right now you are very angry, and I suggest you come back and post again when you have calmed down some. As for your post as it is, I addressed the first part already. I can only do what I can, I am not a developer and I am not coding the game. There is not one magical solution, but there are multiple ways to help improve the game and the community. This is only one of them.

First of all, the goal wasn't simply "if we ban them, the population will increase." I'm aiming for a more friendly community overall, and the attitude of the players I banned will not help with that. Second, I've never seen them help newbies. If anything, they don't even like newbies and just ignore them or kill them. I don't understand how that helps your argument. Third, I have already seen more than four people return to the game because of this, so I don't believe I am somehow killing the game even more.

No there weren't. No one's fallen for that lie since forever.

Your message to Nabutso and "Dean and other people who are "(supposedly)" actually working on Terulia..." simply reveals your immaturity.

What? Nabutso has a real problem with that, and his message to Dean and the others was actually pretty sincere.

As far as I can tell, you are a blind follower, and that's all. I have watched you, I have given you chances, but I have not seen a single independent thought in your head. Ethril's actually one of our peers, our equal. But you just did what you accused Ethril of being. Congratulations for never noticing until I have to point it out for you now. Don't diss Ethril, he's one of Jiritsu's foundations.

Zapno, it seems that right now you are very angry, and I suggest you come back and post again when you have calmed down some.

Human emotion exists for a reason. Committing an action that causes anger and then simply ignoring the anger because it's an emotion, isn't logical. I know you like to pretend you're smart and talking civil and polite = you're right, but the key to actually being intellectual is independent thinking. You're welcome.

Dean's a known racist and bigot, that's him in blackface. It was me implying in my post that he's the type of people the administration team is preferring.

And just for Lumino:

About the newbie comment: I tried being guide. You removed it on a simple mishap of me not seeing someone's message. I tried helping, and when I became guide I actually went to newbie island and helped out newbies, and even went out of my way to go life one that had just died (even though at his level he would have lost next to nothing). Don't you ever make a god damn claim like that, that has absolutely no ground whatsoever. You have absolutely no right. Everything else aside, don't lie through your teeth with things like "people thanking me" and other nonsense that no one believes/cares for.

Let's take this into perspective. You were saying how the loudest voice just happened to be friends of ours, and not the whole community was sticking up for us. I guarantee those who thanked you (if any at all) were our enemies. Is there something wrong with making enemies in a game? Just because we have a lot of enemies (most of which are NOT newbies) Tell me;

ANYWHERE;

does it say that we were out of line, or breaking ANY sort of rule at ALL? We were NEVER told to stop. We were NEVER asked politely to do something different or we'd be banned. STOP LYING ABOUT YOUR MOTIVES AND BE A MAN FOR ONCE.

I see now that discussion with you is pointless. I've listed the names for Gaku, he can check with the players himself if he wants to and he will see that it isn't a lie. I'm not going to drag them in the open for you to attempt to rip apart, though.

STOP LYING ABOUT YOUR MOTIVES AND BE A MAN FOR ONCE.

I don't see how you could think this is personal, to be honest. There are a lot of other players I don't like, and ones I've liked far less than you guys in the past. They're not banned.

Read the previous sentences of that and address that. I'd love to hear your story. The point is we were banned by a magical invisible rule that could easily be fixed by a simple game mechanic.

Does that mean I should stop pking people that haven't played the game for years or risk being banned?
