2,923 Npc citizens won't get a job.

This is my first time trying to hold a domain, and I see that I have an upkeep cost of 240 gold per FFO day. I assume that's because of some well in the corner that was there when I moved in. I was told that my citizens won't work until their happiness goes up, but it's been a few in-game days now and Morale, Happiness and Productivity are all at 99. I have a few Npc houses and a granary down, so how long does it take before the citizens start to make some money? Or will I have to toss in 240 for the well myself every day?

NPCs no longer prduce harvestable income, instead, what income they do produce directly lowers your own domain upkeep.

You have to build NPC houses to generate income. It will go directly toward the domain by the way, you can't withdraw it or anything.

I already knew about domain lords no longer being able to take out money for themselves a long time ago (nobody would have left Sankora to rot if this wasn't the case), but what I was talking about was the actual Income value sitting at 0. I already have a few houses and a granary and the value has never changed. Po took a look at it and said it must be a bug and that the domain should be at least funding up to 10k of upkeep costs.

You need to have a tax on the domain in order to get income from NPCs.

Yes, it means a tax-free domain isn't truly feasible.

Oh. Well now I feel stupid. :| I thought player tax would've been separate from NPC income. Sorry for the useless thread then.

It's not useless if something is answered. By the way, too high of tax can lower happiness and result in lower income also.

Sarm is right though, why not have a PC and NPC tax?

That would be cool.
