i try to use wall in battle on my self it dont work but it works on monsters why is that?

When you cast on yourself and there are no helpful allies around, you will automatically break through your own Wall. Think of it as a magical bubble where everything you cast inside it isn't affected but anybody that casts on you will have the spell bounce in a variety of manners.

On New Banian, there are so few casters that you won't really find much application for it.

were you in battle? if not since wall is considered a hostile action you must be in battle to perform it, meaning outside of battle you must ctrl-click yourself, or another player in your party in order to cast wall

It's possible it is one of the skills that can't be casted on non-hostile Newbies, which includes yourself.

It inflicts a status upon some people. Wall isn't necessarily purely beneficial, it has a lot of downsides, including, sometimes, making it impossible to cast on one's self.

This topic has gone on way too long.

Consider the following: a white mage is healing himself from a swarm of monsters. A white wizard walks by and casts wall on the white mage. Now the white mage can't heal himself.

Stuff like that is why wall is considered hostile.

Also you could cast wall on people in towns and ensure they couldn't heal with cure spells for easy ganks. Hope it's clear to you now.

You'd think it more lame if someone walked by and casted wall on you when you were surrounded by mobs without even declaring hostility.
