Hell, testing it on someone with light element gear shown it to absolutely destroy. It would one-shot Deshawn if he was wearing a light set, and he had high end light gear.

mage armor can give enough matk for it to be noticeable; orgodemir, as a bw at cap with insanely high profs and incredible mage gear, wearing a full set, noticed something like ~100 damage difference if he wore it or not

but 100 damage at those kinds of levels/profs/rare equipment finds when you could wear stealth or something for way more def and agi ? idk

i'd still only wear mage gear as a mage even if it just increased damage by like 5 but it does seem to need to be buffed a lot

and light should add more dex or have more def or something so there's any reason to wear it above heavy or stealth . ..

Light is worth it if you really want a small DEX boost INSTEAD of an AGI penalty on heavy. Also it's not supposed to have high defense because it's made for Masters, since Light armor still is the easiest for them to wear.

Just to clarify to Elias...

You can wear archwizard armor way before you can wear any stealth gear high enough to give you a difference in agi, and just a miniscule difference in defense. Mage gear is pretty much the only viable choice BW's have if you ask me, since my armor was nearly 40 last hosting and I couldn't even wear shop tier stealth gear.

Even when I was hitting for 800 damage and up it still made a great difference to me. Just because it only gives 100 point damage boost (for me it was more like 70 points with capped spells and a wizard staff) doesn't mean it's not something worth investing in. Ask Locke how fun it was to try and confuse Vincent when he was wearing his full set of mage gear. Mage ARMOR does it's job very well..which is provide DEFENSE...namely against magic. Without any dark gear I took less damage from Shades and Dark Dragons than a knight with 2 unholy pieces on, let the staves worry about boosting your casting power.

i remember in gsh me and volte tried to confuse vincent last hosting and i didnt know his mage set but it took us atleast 10 times each for us to get it and i even X-magiced the kid twice and still nothing... mage gear is op when its a decent set

I have decently proffed status spells and notice some trouble casting them on some people. My personal opinion is if mage gear really does interfere with chance to hit, it's an intended feature as mage gear is already the most expensive stuff in the game and if true the only actual way to obtain increased resistance to status spells (which usually determine whether you win or win slowly a battle).
