are case-sensitive in the user's key and the file name.

example:

[file not found]
(working)

[file not found]
(nonworking)

I can understand the file name, but the user key? I can't manually type in file links sometimes because I spell my key in BYOND with different cases than it applies in terulia.com.

reply to Shane:

UNIX systems have case-sensitive file paths.

Do you have an example of one that doesn't work based on capitalization?

I fail to see the problem with an incorrect link not working.

I think it would be possible using the system's URL rewrite mod, but this is independent of BYOND.
I don't see that the benefit is worth the added overhead.
Is it really that hard to find the file and right-click, copy, then paste as needed?
I've even alphabetized the file listings...

It's more of a thing that I have multiple keys where I store FFO-related items on, and silly me forgot the password to a few of those keys, so I had to play a guessing game for a few minutes with file names until I realized it was the key name I was typing wrong. So really it would only benefit me and my memorization of all my files and no one else.

I figured it would be a thing with UNIX but since BYOND literally encourages the fact that keys are not case (or even symbol) sensitive, I just wanted to bring it to attention in case you were interested in preserving that, or possibly to change it to fetch the original case of the key, but I suppose the latter would bring issues to other parts of the forum.
