eating it, in game, should make the characters thirst bar go up.

you're telling me you eat a fried egg in the morning and you're like "nope, don't need a drink, all that salt and pepper and fried-ness has satisfied my thirst"

because I do that too

Also I thought it was common by this point to suggest and argue ideas with the idea "how does it impact gameplay" over "THAT NOT HOW IT WORK IRL"

also no more updates to FFO lolololol

Well, when you use salt, pepper, and fat-ass crisco grease, eggs will do that, yes.

It makes food a TON more useful, if it were implemented.

look, for real. when you're training hardcore for a while why the hell should I have to go idle for like 7 minutes to rebuild my thirst when I should be able to eat an egg or 2 and get my thirst back up and keep going? it's silly that this isn't already implemented. It would do nothing but improve gameplay for everyone. Implement plox

Or you could properly balance food and tonics/tinctures so that you don't get low on thirst while training anyway.

reply to Shane:

Like I don't already do this. It still doesn't change the facts. Fact is when low on hp surronded by mobs tomatoes and lettuce don't cut it, it sure helps but it's not life saving. Potions are lifesaving. Rotating food potions and tinctures and carbonated **** still doesn't make your thirst bar go up, all it does is go down. I shouldn't have to sit idle and wait for it to go up on its own, food SHOULD make thirst grow. It just makes sense. I don't know why you're so opposed to a simple change that can only improve gameplay and training.

Changes to FFO can be considered when the playerbase decides that it no longer wishes for PerfectFFO to be hosted, and instead have the most-recent-version hosted again in its place.

Okay, I'll give you some reasons why I'm opposed to it where it would actually cause an issue:

Having food recover thirst in any manner will simply re-introduce the pot-chugging that the thirst mechanic was originally meant to punish for. Having anything easily accessible quickly restore the thirst bar is along the same lines of removing the thirst bar itself.

No, it won't "only" improve gameplay and training. It will make it more convenient, but it will not necessarily improve it. As things stand, for all intents and purposes someone completely skilled at balancing hunger items, thirst items, and HP/MP recovery weapon suffixes, will have more than enough resources at hand to easily avoid ever having to idle for the thirst bar.

The issue of pot-chugging and thirst recovery comes largely in the form of DvD and massive PvP skirmishes, where a massive amount of food as a resource will be required and there will rarely be breaks in attacking/defending because of the unlimited thirst resource.

And don't even suggest having the amount of thirst recovered lessen based on the amount of hunger your character has because then it just leads back to the same problem: Having to take hunger breaks because some people can not properly balance their thirst and hunger while training.

Alternatively, during your thirst breaks you can get up and go take a ****ing piss or do some basic stretches to relax your muscles from sitting in front of a computer all day.

Thanks for the history lesson, oh wait, I was playing during that time and already know why it's implemented. Secondly, who the **** said it would "quickly" restore the thirst bar? I sure as hell never did, so now you're putting words into my posts that aren't there.

"skilled at balancing hunger items, thirst items, and HP/MP recovery weapon suffixes, will have more than enough resources at hand to easily avoid ever having to idle for the thirst bar."

Go solo the newbie island quests and get back to me. Sorry I don't wanna wait to do the quests till i'm level 30. I already know what your response to doing it solo will be and I'll get to that in a moment.

"The issue of pot-chugging and thirst recovery comes largely in the form of DvD and massive PvP skirmishes, where a massive amount of food as a resource will be required and there will rarely be breaks in attacking/defending because of the unlimited thirst resource."

First of all let me give you one HUGE LOL on the part about massive pvp skirmishes. Have you even played recently? There is what, 8 people online at a high point during the day. Mostly idling, no one plays the official hosting, everyone would rather play the server that dude bought and **** around all day so your point on that is moot. Secondly why are you assuming eating a tomato would give you a full thirst bar? you're full of assumptions, aren't you.

"And don't even suggest having the amount of thirst recovered lessen based on the amount of hunger your character has because then it just leads back to the same problem: Having to take hunger breaks because some people can not properly balance their thirst and hunger while training.

Why would I suggest this when obviously eating food, no matter how hungry you are, would still make you thirsty.

Point in summary, eating food shouldn't automatically fill your thirst bar like you assumed I was stating, but it should HELP. Just a little gradual increase would be sufficient.

Also you can stop arguing that I must not be training right or know what I'm doing. I do have locust suffix, I do use other means to heal, and I DO keep my thirst bar up for 90% of my training, it becomes an issue during super large mobs. Easy fix, don't hate change.

P.S i'm still laughing at you thinking massive pvp battle occur
