So yea, I finally got internet again... But, I can't use it.

Here's the sitiation.

Got all my DSL stuff connected and had to DL a ethernet controller to start, all well and good. But when it says its connected I check the status tab and I'm gettin' almost no packet transfer what-so-ever. I've tried everything I can think of, but no success, 'cause I'd be on FFO right now.

Can someone PLEASE help me?

I tried them. They told me to test the wall jacks with a phone reciever, which I did. Got a dial tone last night but still no connecty. Tried reciever again today, no dial tone. I'm at my wits end here, as I'm most definatley going to have to pay my monthly fees at some point, all the while still not having internets.

Remove DSL modem, rj45 cord, 2 phone filters, 1 phone/DSL filter, and 1 ac power box/plug.

I proceed to join all cords and plugs into their respective female counterparts. I then snap in the phone line into the wall jack that works(ish) and turn on my modem. The computer then picks up a connection, acquiring network address, etc. It then proclaims I am now connected at a nice 100 Mbps rate. But, lo and behold when I open firefox I get a web config test failure and an outline of crap I've already done. I can't call tech support, as the phoneline doesn't work. Centurylink, formerly Embarq.

I was never given a prompt to do so. The lady said it was just plug in and surf. ( used my nephew's cell like 5 days ago)

Yar, had to download a new ethernet controller to get it started.

Btw I'm currently borrowing Internet from a church with my shattered screen iPod touch. In case you were wondering.

Do make sure the phone line that goes from the router to the jack does NOT have the adaptor they included on it. That filters the DSL signal out, and is just for your phones.

So it'd be akin to

I finally found out the problem.

The telephone box on the outside of my house doesn't work, therefore no phonejax work.

Calling a technician tomorrow probably.

Weird that you'd still be getting a dialup if there's a problem with your network interface box. IDK. I've had/am still having problems with mine. Phone company is being a pain in the ass about fixing it.

though I don't think your lines are actually cut. Looks like someone took a pair of crazy scissors and went to town inside my interface box.
