For better or worse, FFO will be p-wiped on the 1st of January. I still have to consider which changes to make before this takes place. I will have limited internet access for the next several days.

Here are my suggestions

No world level cap again, and if there must be one, 40.

Keep guards and army fairly powerful, at least strong enough that we don't repeat the level 20 cap hosting, where one player could kill an entire army in 5 minutes.

Slight increase for spell damage, and curing, and a slight increase in the damage from the light spell on top of that.

Make gates lockable.

If army units need anything it would be a nerf, and that would only really be needed if there is a set level cap. There is no chance in hell that anyone this hosting would be able to solo an entire domain's army in five minutes, or anywhere near that fast.

Cure doesn't really need a buff; the few healers of this hosting were healing rather fine without asking for a buff.
But yeah I totally agree that Light needs a buff.

What would lockable gates serve? If you don't want people in certain parts of a domain, then don't let those people live in the domain. If you want to keep items safe, use a PC House.

If you must lock a gate...your an idiot...

No one not impuned or citted in said domain can open one, and if you can't trust your cits or impuned people...why are they citted or impuned? How be stupiiid

And I have a slight beef with cures power, I hate healing the same as a potion w/o dark or cure gear when everyone has around 2k hp

My other beef is with rws uselessness, magic in general needs a buff, once again 200 dmg ice1s against people with 2k health while every melee laughs at that damage that they do with 1h weapons, then knights ***ging it up wit claymores for 400 500 dmg

Mages were only OP when we were stuck at lvl 20 and doing 600 dmg tier2s, magical power should be reverted to how it was before this hosting with how annoying it is to prof all a mages spells and generally higher difficulty to level with natural proffing restrictions now, it balances itself out

why everyone being so rude about the gate idea

if this game was as populated as it was back then with like 30 people in each domain you can't honestly pull that "kick them out lol trusted people only" card

it's a freakin domain not a BLOODY CLUB HOUSE

reply to Dr. Letha:Locking gates pretty much serves the same purpose as locking PC houses. They way in which it would benefit FFO is that domain lords who would otherwise not let untrustable people, or unknown characters live in a domain, might decide to let them live there because it would not be as much of a security threat.

If you make them able to be Picked then everyone mains Ninja again this hosting and suddenly that **** does not even matter. If you make them able to be Enchanted then people actually start using Red Wizard for Disenchant Lock because the two security devices you use to block your PC House from being broken into is countered by the two same methods.

Shhhhh let them believe disenchant lock doesn't work so I can main the only rw able to troll domains over their stupid alt wms made just to enchant ****

Also, speaking of ****ty alt wms, enchant lock is stupid easy to get compared to disenchant and people make wms just to enchant their locks daily which I find stupid, make enchant lock harder to get so that people actually have to play a wm for more then a day to ninja-proof their domains

Or make it so that any prof disenchant lock has a chance to disenchant an enchanted lock, regardless of the prof of the enchant lock (however, the higher/closer to the enchant lock prof the disenchant lock prof is, the better the chance).

So anyway, here's my for serious ideas:

Mages - take way too long to prof. Most of us that still play this game have played like a bajillion and one times. It is fairly balanced as is because for the amount of time it takes them to prof they get major boosts per prof when compared to melees.

So I suggest: Mage spells are easier to prof, but give them less power per prof. In return, blanket boost magic overall.

Also, if you're not going to have a Level cap, at least start the WLC at like 20 or something or give it a major steroid speed boost.

I think that idea with spell proffing and the magic boost will really help out in the earlier levels, since those are primarily what turn people away from mages, yet this will also leave them with the considerable power that they should have at the much later profs.

Also yeah increasing the WLC rate would be pretty awesome.

I cannot fathom how you people think no wlc and faster wlc increase = more players playing ffo

without it on the hub we need people to stick around late game

what you guys keep whining for will literally have the exact opposite effect

Who gives a **** about more players playing FFO. No one new is going to play FFO. It's off the hub.

Everyone here has played FFO for like at least two years, some for like sixty billion years or some ****.

Do you guys really want to reach a point where you are just AFKing until the WLC raises again, where you go out and use all of your skills once, then go back to AFK?

A permanent WLC will in a way encourage people to eventually "finish" their character, and at that point there will be more interest in actually doing things other than the forever grind. That is why I want a WLC at 35 or 40. In fact, that will probably bring in more people.

But in the case that there isn't a WLC, **** that **** I don't want to hit Level 10 then have to wait for two days before I can hit Level 11.

As much as it pains me to say it, Shane is right in saying that there won't be 'new' players. At this point, the amount of players who play isn't the biggest issue, because in the end, it's most likely gonna be the same people playing anyway.

Everytime I read what cea says I always ask myself"does he read his own **** before submitting?" Probably not cause ***** be stupid

Also, mages need a god damn power buff, my level 35 rw with a god damn perfected power staff and a capped ice1 and decent proffed ice2 does less then 200 on every god damned player in the world, while any jerkoff knight or ninja or bb or bw can outdmg it at level ****ing 25 with gks, claymores, tempers bla bla ****ing bla

Also, wanted to say something directed at cea "I think I so good at ffo cause I play knight hurr durr"
