FFO is a game that when created had in mind could be hosted endlessly with players waring, scheming, creating, building and using it as a sandbox to make their own stories (RP). If FFO was a perfect gameworld it could withstand a stable community for years and years on a single un-pwiped server.

I've joined BYOND Aug 25, 2002. I found FFO maybe a year or so after. This was a good time and age for us/me in the BYONDverse. Once I found this new game called Final Fantasy Online I was in awe. It was a small MMORPG that I loved right away. This was right before the new Diablo system and I met someone named Darian and became a member of his kingdom. Vergan Kingdom Now the game is far from what we now know today but it's the idea of being free to what you wished and to grow from a lowly pawn/soilder to a leader/king, or a theif/outlaw assassin, noble/joker/prankster.


Because of the limitations of such a game that is hosted on BYOND and due to the change in the videogame industry in general.(Here's looking at you F2P model). Change is inevitable and so must the original idea it was born from. (FFO into Terulia).

I'd like to have a debate on the issue of server uptimes till next pwipe.


Phase 1: (1st-2nd week)
Train, explore, gather gear, form alliances (new and old).

Phase 2: (1month)
Settlements , towns, to cities, to fortresses.

Phase 3: (2-4 month)
End game rare items/gear questing, Garland, Dragons.

Phase 4: (4+ months)
Depends on the kingdom/group/faction in power. If the group is passive-agressive it may give other players a chance to overcome weaknesses and flaws. Or if a agressive-oppressive power is in place it will keep people under their boot till next server.

Phase 5:(4-6months)
End game rankings and top leaderboards of the server may be posted for gloating purposes.

Phase 6: (After 6 months p-wipe)
Optional and please debate this one.
The group who holds the most land at the end of the server will get a small head start next version. Also they can gain either an emblem or item that is only for aesthetic purposes and holds no power in-game. Could be an option to make a new building construction, a emblem beside their name, also their name will be etched into the "Official Scoreboard" so their name will be remember forever.

Server uptimes will be twice a year. September-Feburary, March-August.

I would only consider something like this for Terulia, because there aren't enough people for that to be effective on invisible FFO.

Additionally, this sort of thing is less kind towards casual players who don't like to PvP often/at all. Those types of players hate the idea of pwipes because it ruins their hard work.

Yes indeedy. That's a very big problemo with my proposal. It's really up to the community to decide such a thing seeing how such a timeline changes the way the game is played out.

Also no matter how you look at it there will be pwipes. If not every 6 months, every year, and on extremely now rare max 2 years which I can't see ever anymore.

You say that the hardwork is gone? Well the top players will get "braging rights". That's the purpose of PvP right?

when I said I'd agree, think about it. Large squads fighting against another. Seeing which squad would take the crown of "bragging rights" The fact of it is, is that if you get stronger, you show how STRONG you really are.


Hell, when I use to get killed alot, I formed an alliance and look at me now, not playing this wipe, or did play but quit....because Nerserus got deleted/quit and the community was crying for their benefits.

However, when preparing for domination, you have to have it figured out. IF there is another pwipe, I am not being nice, I am NOT handing out domains, I AM returning back to my old Blax killing, no feeling, kinda dealing....Smiff fleeing....way.

But with that said, all oldbies come back, oldbies come back for this time of pleasure/joy. Fighting, training, domain warfare....with NO siege timer. Make it like it was, with 20 non newbies on.....REVERT to how it use to be. Too many updates that messed this game up. Take out the ponies, take out the Player-pony icons. Don't make it Brony Pony Online. (BPO) that's kinda stupid and pointless. But yea, anymore Ideas i'll suggest more, but as of now, I would like to see these fixed before logging back on. O.o

I'm not going to break down every point you did. Because 1, I have other things to do. And you right, we did nolife the game for 1 week. That's it, I mean I know it seemed longer, but it's been only a week.

I would initially say this would be better for Terulia since lmaoFFO.

However, since FFO is pretty much Terulia's testing ground so we could always do this for FFO too to see how it works. This hosting is pretty much at the end of phase one anyway so hell, why not try it out anyways?

Well that's the thing. My suggestion ain't for Terulia because I don't think it works with it. I see that game more of a longer lasting server. It should be running indefinitely. Think Eve Online. Or soon to be Dust 514. Persistent Online worlds.

I just see FFO in stages with all of it's flaws. But in general maybe it wouldn't work. I was just thinking out loud really and why or how it would be possible to maintain a continuous server without resorting to an eventual p-pwipe.

That was be most definately sweet. No pwipes EVAR!

Quick question though. What is the world level cap now and does it actually cap?
