Now, at first I thought this was a slight increase, but now I've seen the spike in cost myself

Ok so get this, repairing my fin silver nunchuck was ~600 gold, its clean and was barely dark blue

My repair on my brown, near red thief speeds was less than that

The engrave on this silver chuck is 70k, the engrave on my standard spiked wave nunchuck of the rabbit was only 12k, and silver is only one tier higher than spiked, the repair on my spiked in the same condition was only 74 gold

So what I'm getting at is, revert the cost of high tier gear to how it was, people exxagerate how gear was, only the few rich ****s could engrave and use end tier **** freely in the first place

I like how I've been saying this for a while but only when white people feel the wrath of item cost increase do they finally agree.

I paid 180k to engrave a FINE rabbit power staff.
That's the cost of like an old masterwork or excellent moon..

It also affected drops.. the highest piece of mage gear I've seen from a dragon is a Grand Crimson Cloak. Maybe that's similar to a low level warlock peice.. but that's **** for the buffs dragons got.. Frost Dragons almost 1 shot me with all my heavy and stone charms on, they 1 shot everyone else I've done dragons with and have 15k HP. I'm not saying that they're too hard, I'm saying that the drops should be worth the effort. The best gold drop one has given me is 11k.

Embers have 25-30k hp and similar drops.. Killing one is a complete and utter waste of time because of the damage your gear takes before it dies, and the non 100% chance of a gold drop that will only cover repairs if you're soloing.

Seems fine by me to be honest.

High end gear is supposed to have high-end costs. Before, people could maintain (and in some cases, engrave extremely high-end gear with little to no effort, yet still reap the benefits from them. This update affected gear in two ways: directly, it made the high tier gear have a high tier gear cost, which seems reasonable. Indirectly, it also gave better reasoning to use, as well as purpose, to use lower tier gear.

FFO is muuuuuuuch more balanced with mid-tier equipment as compared to having high-tier stuff cost only barely more than mid-tier and everyone being stupidly overpowered, resulting in changes (most of the time, nerfs) as a result.

tl;dr "working as intended"

Only, the problem falls solely, and I mean, solely on the poor. I for example have the disposable income to engrave practically anything I want. The only people getting the bad end of the stick are those who couldn't afford it anyway. And in that respect that makes high end gear more overpowered because only some people can get it. Which arguably messes up the entire point because if everyone was #overpowered' there'd be more balance in the first place, as opposed to one really rich guy in full high tier gear noone else can afford beating people up and stealing their garlands. ( Totally never happens. )

I didn't realize, relleth, that a clean silver chuck that barly does more than my spiked wave chuck, should cost about 10x the amount to use

Once again, this just makes it so that the elite few who farm the most money and nolife the game most of all can engrave whatever they want and use whatever they want, while the majority of the ffo community has to sit around trying to fight back with low tier stuff while a few rich people run around stomping everything with their top tier **** that they can afford

If the general populace can't use ****, why does it exist? And why remove more items from the game, nust revert the cost back to normal when your average joe could get excited over scraping up that 100k for a moon staff engrave

Look at the truth about Nigas...

Black Belt says: Why?
Black Belt laughs out loud.
Tyranus says: Gimme all your money.
Tyranus says: Im a niga.
Black Belt says: Nah.
You filch 552 gold.
You have been labeled an outlaw of Argo.
You filch 551 gold.
You filch 257 gold.
Black Belt has died at the hands of Tyranus!

I'm going back on what I said in this topic. Having an entire hosting to think about it, the spike in high-end gear cost was too much and too poorly executed. Silver NUNCHUCKS costing 100 gold a swing and Silver TONFAS not being affected at all? How does that even make sense? Certain tiers of armor that barely even merited being "good" suddenly become as expensive as pre-costspike Black Leather? Good gear should cost a good amount, not a top-tier amount.

High end gear was already expensive to begin with, now it's just catering to the people who have ridiculously nolife amounts of gold. Why even have that kind of gear ingame if no one can even maintain it?

Before, even the "medium wealth" players could attempt to get even with the higher-ups by having higher-up gear. Now there's not even a chance for anyone who isn't stacked with absolutely exuberant amounts of gold to even utilize anything above average-quality equipment, and the gap between hardcore players and casual (I'm using this word lightly so shut up) players is much larger than it should ever be.

tl;dr bump fix this please
