Does anyone know what would cause scrying someone to be a total black screen? If it helps it was our lovely head admin ;d, maybe it's his dark and dank lair he lives in or maybe it's a bug, or maybe even some sort of prevention of harassing admin? If so that would suck totally man.

Ive had this happen once to me. Prolly a diff situation but with me I casted scry and it fizzled but oddly enough it gave me the option to scry someone. When I did I couldnt see anything at all, just a black screen of nothing.

Fraps doesn't show the list of names pop up, but I get Locke. Black screen. I get Jean, shows me everything fine.

This is a case of Locke being Locke.

I'm the head admin and thus I need to be on a lot. I can't be bothered with worrying about whether I'm going to get pvped or not if I'm only on to keep the peace.

Were getting a little far away with the fact that there is a authority on FFO. Whether your happy with it or not it exists. Whether you feel you should be able to do whatever, or that admins shouldnt get these powers or they should be treated like players when logged in is just absolutly ignorant. Yes there is admin abuse I know, but he IS STILL OUR HEAD ADMIN. With that being said there should be a realization that there will forever be authority that your going to disagree with but still need show a level of respect for. Just my opinion.

As long as your not doing admin related things (abuse investigation, testing, whatever admins do) you should pretty much be another player I'd think.

I disagree. There have been complaints that I'm not around enough, and complaints that I don't keep an eye on what Guides and Renamers are doing enough.

I can be online and do this while I'm doing other things, but I can't afford time to sit here and do nothing but watch my screen because I might get attacked.

This is a very small issue, I do not understand why it is such a problem for you.

Considering that is the only time I go into GM mode and float in the void, I don't see what you are complaining about. If I've pvped lately, I relog back to Argo or make sure I've been sitting alone in Argo for some time before I do that.

I can understand what Stat is saying. Like IRL people don't like police officers but they have to respect them.

Yet if you want to be treated as a regular player Locke your "Locke" character should be just what it is. A regular player with no privileges.

It's only natural that other people won't like it if you get special treatment. Nobody has said a word about the other adjunct admins for the few weeks they've been appointed.

I would idle on a different character, and indeed I used to do that, but nobody knew who I was when I did that. I think using the character that has the same name as my forum account and what I go by in general is probably the best. That's also the one I want to play, though, and I don't want to change my name because I've never allowed other established players to change their names, so that wouldn't be fair.

I wouldn't necessarily say that. We all know of Gaku's alt he gets on, a green thief named Murphy's Law, and it's a simple character with no icon or guide or anything. Now I don't know if he intended for that character to be so obvious when online, but everyone knows it's him when they see him on Who.

Also, people do not need to know who you are honestly. If your "admin" character was completely secret and never visible, it'd be reasonable, because of the same concept as GM Conceal. To be honest, the less you are noticeable, the more effective you will be at catching people doing things wrong. Not to mention you'll never have to worry about the bother of people hunting you down.

Yes, too bad your not like Malthros or Dream. The community actually liked them and never questioned their admin ship.

Malthros was actually just weaker in the later versions he played and didn't care about it. Dream was OP because there was no level cap and he created Irendi to suit his class of BW.
