But that is besides the point. I wouldn't even care if you had a haxed character or as long as you let it be known. (Not claiming you do). Yet haxed characters are not the issue, it's the way things are progressing off-game. Forums are all about bringing people in the community together not to tear them apart.

Indeed, lately the forum has been sparsely used aside from a battleground of opposing views. I don't know what it is exactly, but we get very few new forum members at all these days.

I wasn't personally there when he came back, but from what I hear he hosted the first 4.0 server. When he did this, he had a character with maximized attributes and every ability in the game. He also spawned frost dragons and the like on domains, reasoning that they were part of an event that was part of a larger plot for the game he had in mind. To my knowledge, this was done with little or no prior warning. Also, at this point, spawned monsters still yielded gold and loot. I seem to recall hearing about him dropping these on New Banian as well. The experience imbalances caused by this resulted in a two-week rollback, which resulted in many players complaining about experience, and I think the solution to that was doubling experience, but in the end a pwipe occured because so much had happened to unbalance the game.

I also seem to recall that he wasn't very nice about his actions on the forums, and openly flamed the community.

I don't know what else he did. I don't know if he killed other players without warning or provocation or not. You would have to ask someone such as Dean or Oondivenizen who played during that time if you want the full story.

Well im pretty up to date with events up to the release of 4.0. I used to have a really shitty computer that wouldnt let me run the newer versions. Now I don't like going by what people say, and yes I have heard that about Dream and spawning dragons and whatnot on NB. He knew doing something like that would not fly which is why he's not here no more. The pre 4.0 Dream was a good guy so apparently he either changed or just showed his true colors. I heard he was like a captain guard in WoW or something. He must just like power.

Hell at least your not like Garall who was/is power hungry IMO (insert cheapshot). I feel like you do try and want to help FFO as much as you can. Yet unwarranted bans that may have had a reason months ago to be implemented out of the blue without warning without talking with Adjunct Admins is just plain rude. And the reason is much more worse: Killing the community. You can't blame one group for everything when there are many factors that contributed to the decline in population. please don't use them as a scapegoat.

This isn't "out of the blue", I've been thinking about it for quite awhile, I just didn't want to make a decision in the middle of the school semester when I was way too busy to think about FFO much.

I didn't talk to the adjunct admins because they're largely inactive, and in the past when I have brought things up with them there was no resolution. They wouldn't finish any discussion. I think the adjunct setup failed to be effective.

The reason isn't just "killing the community". I believe they were a large part of the bitter oldbie problem, which we have experienced multiples times recently. First, Malthros came back at one point, and he got in a pretty big argument with Gaku. Then we had Dream and you just heard about how that went. Then we had you come back and complain about the new forum setup. Cea, Haze, and Sinsie haven't really done the "left and come back" routine, but they do have a poor attitude concerning the game, Gaku, and their community, and I don't feel like it belongs here. I banned Gene as well because, while I was playing with them, I witnessed them spam killing players who so much as slightly annoyed them. This was mostly newer players who had no idea what they were doing. Once, one of these players made a new alt to start over. Immediately, Cea made a newbie fighter to chase him down so he could avoid the cube on his main. This is the reason I didn't trust Cea with Renamer. Renamers can see keys, and I had reason to believe Cea was using that ability to kill this guy.

I have not blamed one group for everything. As I said in the other topic, I believe that there are multiple problems with FFO, and I know that there are also multiple solutions. This is not meant to be a final, magical solution that will instantly fix the game. This is just me doing what I can. I am not a coder, or a member of development. I can only do so much myself.

I can understand and agree with you on "some" of the points you are making. Also the reason why when I came back I made a stink about the new forums is because I am forum literate and didn't know you had to join so many different kinds of forums and had to search for what goes where. Also when I made that post it was to revive the old main topics of the previous forum. To me the old forum was a lot more newbie friendly and active and I wanted to revive that. Yet the same can be done with this. I do know the reasons now for the switch and I do applaud it since eventually it would be done/is better in the future. (This is getting off topic)

Since we are not discussing what this topic is about and it's pointless to even say more I should just make a new topic about what we can do as a "community" to make the game more enjoyable and address what the problems are before so we may correct em.

Well next time if you ban four players or any player for that matter, it would be nice to get all the facts out so the community dosent just speculate on what's going on and just think that you are abusing your position.

I was under the assumption that griefing and PvP issues will be solved or at least much better in Terulia. Perhaps it's time we just forget about FFO, and focus more on things that will definitely become an issue when the new game has arrived. FFO's PvP system is incredibly broken as it is, with no way to definitively protect newbies from being helplessly slaughtered if they wrong a power player, it would take a miracle to make a work-around for it that won't waste Gaku's already sparse time (which he's obviously shown he doesn't want to work on FFO anymore).

FFO is just a harsh world, and it was pretty much created originally and ran like that, and it's hard to imagine this very same world becoming any less harsh without hard-coding in some sort of way to prevent new players from being turned off from the game, while not turning away stronger and/or older players due to not enough content/PvP.

All the issues I can think of in FFO regarding PvP I've read have either been dealt with or are going to be dealt with. So, hopefully Terulia will not even have this issue to begin with.

In reference to the original topic of the thread, maybe I'll just make a newbie alt to idle on with a custom face so its obvious its me. Then I could just sit there on that and switch to Locke when I want to play as a normal player.
