I've been hearing lots of talk about kingdoms and such with this game altho I dont really know what people are refering to, can anyone explain this to me? like what they are and how to be a part of them?

Kingdoms are unofficially-established groups that own domains. Although, hardly any are active in the current hosting.

In Terulia however, there are three kingdoms run by NPCs, Denedors, Salamar, Elvewyn (according to Dean). There wont be any player-run Kingdoms but nothing stops unofficial establishments of groups or guilds.

I think there was a typo earlier and the first kingdom's name is Denadros.

I dunno if I would agree with this idea or not, but I will still throw it out there. What if when your character is created your automatically put into a kingdom. Afterall that would be really how it is. Maybe there can be someway to change if really needed....but that would keep it totally random. I dunno how much I like the idea but its still and idea

That would be nice and work really well in terms of balance but since FFO is such a strong friend game it'd be suck to be screwed out of being in the same kingdom as your friend...

I'd like to hear some ideas of how it would work, considering that if you make it random people can't play with their friends, if you don't it'll be just like it is now, and if you try to cap a kingdom off, you'll still seperate some people. Plus if people are in different kingdoms they'll probably pick one to "support" and screw over the other one, or just keep remaking until they get in the one they want.

I have many concerns with this, so even if plans are not finalized I would like to hear some ideas on how these three kingdoms will be balanced.

let people join whatever kingdom they want, however...

bonuses won't be kingdom-wide, but rather you'll get your own bonuses for working for the kingdom.

choosing a less populated kingdom = more enemies to kill = easier to get a bonus

Make it fully random. Edit: Well okay not fully random. Make it so a kingdom can only have say, 5 more members than any other kingdom and then the game focuses on adding people to the other two before it adds people to the one that has the most again, to keep the totals somewhat even.

It's not like people wouldn't be able to party with eachother still. I guess it all depends on what aspects of the game the NPC kingdoms will be used in, really.

But like I said, it's not like Alfitarians never partied with Dzungarians....

I can deff see people screwing over the kingdom just cause they didnt get the one they wanted. Or cause they arnt with friends. And making it random would mean alot of newbies would be joining this as well. And all it takes is one person to ruin it for alot. So maybe this isnt a good idea at all.

My Life as a Spy has a system where you get a TP bonus for certain documents if your side has less players than the other sides. Something like that could be done, like smaller kingdoms earning greater rewards from missions and such.

Even if people made bullshit characters, they would fill up each kingdom equally so it wouldn't matter in the end. Not to mention your kingdom wouldn't have any impact on what domain you live in(aside from your starter one maybe? i kind of doubt that though because it would be a bad design flaw and turn people away from the game that want to party with friends right away) or who you party with.

Or even if person a doesnt like person b and countinuously kills person b cause they are in the same kingdom and always party and or see each other. Would there be a restriction on killing kingdom members? What if someone betrays their kingdom?

It was said once before that PKing would have harsher punishments. But at the same time, Terulia is more PvP-orientated. Current theory is that treason has serious consequences.
