Shane, with 38 blade proficiency, a standard strung pincer, and a Standard Brutal Ice Axe of the Rabbit was doing an average of 97 per hit on me. Average tested from 15 hits, me wearing my full non-elemental mage set on my BW.

That's pretty high damage with a shitty weapon and a mediocre proficiency.

to be honest, he isnt breaking 100, and the same put on other classes would do a decent chunk more(excluding rws who for some reason seem to have less str then a ww)

Neither of you actually explain how or what problem(s) this solves other than (capping out in a week) which may or may not be a problem depending on who you ask.

Capping out is a problem only to the "hardcore" players of FFO. There is not enough content end game anymore to satisfy/entertain these players and either they lose interest enigma/vincent/desawn/stat for example and quit or they stay around FFO to troll (that list is too long now, j/k).

I'm going to reply to that. I can't take this version serious anymore because of a few things....

1. It's the same, takeover a domain(s)

2. Form some type of alliance and go around killing people for the laughs and cries.

3. Go around being jerks and having everyone dislike you, and then the next version, bla....samething, renew the process....

I don't see anything new, If anything, I suggest make a new personality over the net. Role-play or just go around calling others fat. I don't really care, I'm just around to just be remembered I guess....I'm level 16 now, I haven;t trained in weeks so, yea....Keep up the work guys, 6 more Pwipes and you will know exactly how I feel.

This is a poor blanket statement in my opinion. Which hardcore players? I consider myself a hardcore player and most of the people I play with as well. I haven't heard any complaints about capping out. I'm pretty sure everyone has been having a blast with all the pvp and dvd. The domain warfare gets kind of stale and it sucks when all your opposition rage-quits but other than that we've had more action this hosting than I've seen in the past 2-3 hostings combined.

There hasn't been new contest for quite a few hostings and I doubt there will be any new content in the future. Did you expect differently?

Yes Dean you are a "hardcore" player we both are if we have gottn to the position that we are in. A casual player wouldn't care to help in Dev or become an admin. I never debated this truth. All of the people from guides,icon checkers, admins, forum admins are all/were hardcore at one point in their FFO career.

When the pwipe happened at the start of this hosting everyone wanted to be strong, be the "top" dog and rule the world. Now people have either accomplished what they have set out to do and now as you said they ragequit. Maybe your right, that they are mad that they don't like the way the game is going and they quit, or they are bored with the repetitiveness or staleness of doing the same thing over and over or killing the same people again and again.

All im saying is this, when the game reaches a certain point as it does in every hosting that we play me, and you both know that people just don't play as much as they used to.

I'm on the same page with you Dean that I like to keep my character and have a point where I can enjoy the end game content such as politics and domain warware and not grind for days and days.

On the other hand when as you put it yourself there is nobody to fight then the game gets boring right? The only real true challenges top players can face in FFO is against other top players. If they don't play anymore then it's the role of the people who are left to encourage the growth of the playerbase and to make positive impacts on the community.

Also this is only BYOND and it's limied in the tpyes of players that come into the game without proper marketing. I have seen a few new people that have been playing though.

All im saying is this. Even though I like keeping my character so I don't have to grind, I think what motivated me at the start of this hosting was the journey and the "Challenge" to compete against other people. My other main reason why I played from the start of this hosting was to do my admin duties.

So yeah the bottom line is this, are people still having fun with FFO? Will a pwipe make people play again or increase the playerbase? If you take the mistakes of this hosting and improve upon them and pwipe would the next hosting be better?

Ayway, I have never had as much fun on ff as I have this hosting. A pwipe with adjustments or not, wont really do much one way or another.

I'm the true top dog. I like killing the same people over and over again to hear them cry and try to insult me. Yeah, I'm still having fun with the game.

But that doesn't mean I don't want a pwipe. I'd like for one to happen and we can restart everything because the game just gets old too quick and restarting makes everyone same level and they can have a chance to do shit differently and maybe actually improve their shitty chars. Gaku did what Dream did: Spawn epic monsters that dropped epic gear. When Dream did it, there was one week until a pwipe. During that week it was extreme pvp and it was extremely fun. Why not give the same treatment this time around?

Pwipes are like a defibilator: They shock the game back to life for awhile.

I say we keep doing them every time it dies till its permanently dead. If theres a pwipe, and the player count doesn't change, then we should stop. However, until it does, those first few weeks/months are fun as heck.
